LA CARRERA PANAMERICANA
Since 1991, TAG Heuer is a proud partner of the Carrera Panamericana, a gruelling race stretching across the unforgivable Mexican landscape. First held in 1950 but cancelled in 1955, it was revived in 1988. Jack Heuer’s famous Carrera chronograph - released in 1963 - paid homage to this one-of-a-kind event.

1963
The Heuer Carrera is conceived at the 12 Hours of Sebring, where Jack Heuer, official timekeeper of the event, first hears of the legendary Carrera Panamericana Mexico Road Race. His imagination soars, he creates the chronograph design for professional drivers.
1971
Every member of Ferrari’s Grand Prix Scuderia, with whom Heuer had signed on as Official Sponsor and Timekeeper, receives a solid gold Heuer Carrera engraved with his name and blood type.
1996
The company puts TAG Heuer Carrera back into the light with the first re-edition.
2002
The Collection is fully reborn and chosen to showcase the CALIBRE 360 CONCEPT CHRONOGRAPH, the world’s first 1/100th of a second mechanical chronograph. Ever since, the TAG Heuer Carrera collection has housed the brand's most innovative movements.
2015
Launch of the in-house HEUER 02T CHRONOGRAPH TOURBILLON COSC.
2019
Launch of in-house HEUER 02 TOURBILLON NANOGRAPH, the first with revolutionary carbon-composite hairspring.
